Writing about the machinery under the software we use every day.
I’m Cameron Bergoon. I build and sometimes break real systems, and this is where I write down what I learn along the way — the storage engines, query planners, and data structures that sit under everything, and that most of us happily ignore right up until the day we can’t.
Sometimes that’s a story straight from production, with the messy details left in. Other times I’ll take one idea — a B-tree, a slotted page, a query plan — and walk through it piece by piece, with diagrams you can pull apart yourself, until it stops being a black box.
Each new piece, sent the day it’s published. No spam, unsubscribe anytime.
